CRCSI is an unincorporated joint venture. The partnership now comprises over 100 organisations from the corporate, government and university sectors from around Australia and internationally. Over 60 companies participate, an unprecedented number in the history of Australia’s CRCs.

A new unincorporated joint venture was forumed to update membership and activities as the CRCSI enters its second term, to June 2018.

CRCSI operates as a company. It has a board of directors with advisory committees and a CEO with executive staff. Spatial Information Systems Research Ltd, SISRL, is a management and IP holding company. It provides a sufficiently flexible vehicle for parties agreeing to perform research and development jointly with a view to then, jointly or separately, commercialising the research under license or other such appropriate arrangements.
